Almost any road in the western states will reveal the environmental destruction caused by grazing livestock in sensitive ecosystems. Here are only a few examples.
Because
there are such few non-grazed reference points to compare, observing fence lines
can be one of the best ways to observe first hand how cattle will destroy what
would otherwise be healthy, productive land supportive of many plant and animal
species versus the current dry, lifeless, barren landscapes.
